Lithium Ion batteries are the lightest, highest power capacity batteries available today. The battery selected for the Vision Stick is readily available at stores like Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Circuit City. The high power density puts the power for the whole system in the small monitor system for the greatest ease of use.

The Lithium Ion battery is preferred over other types because:
>> Ni-Cad, although less expensive, is heavier, bulkier, and have a memory effect that can greatly cut down on run time.
>> Ni-Mh is not as slight or small for equivalent power as Lithium Ion.
>> Lead Acid is the heaviest, and bulkiest of the battery technologies. The weight and size require the battery to be belt mounted, which means a wire from the user to the probe.
